#girlsinmotion: Keeping the Next Generation in the Game

Behind every pair of underwear we donate is a girl who gets to stay in the sport she loves. That's the whole idea behind #girlsinmotion, our initiative to make sure no girl leaves the game for a reason as solvable as her period. With more than 50,000 pairs of leakproof underwear already donated, we're on a mission to support 100,000 girls by 2027. Here's how it works, and why it matters.

The problem we're trying to solve

Girls leave sport in far greater numbers than boys during the teenage years, and one of the biggest reasons is one almost nobody talks about. Over 50% of young girls drop out sports due to period challenges. That's a barrier we can actually remove. Not with a slogan, but with gear in girls' hands and honest conversations that make periods a normal part of being an athlete.

It starts with the athletes girls look up to

#girlsinmotion connects professional female athletes with the youth teams coming up behind them. We sit down with athletes who are willing to be honest about their own journeys — the setbacks, the wins, and how they manage their periods while training and competing at the top level. When the players girls admire talk openly about this stuff, it stops being something to hide and starts being something to handle.

Be part of the next 50,000

We can't reach 100,000 girls alone. There's a place for everyone in #girlsinmotion:

  • Coaches and educators can request gear for their teams.
  • Anyone can nominate a local club or program that could use support.
  • All of us can help by talking openly about periods in sport and sharing the mission.
